We are excited to announce our latest WebCEO Release Updates, designed to streamline your SEO and website management tasks like never before!

Discover what’s new in our Traffic Analysis, Rank Tracking, Site Audit, and more, with major improvements like Automatic Sitemap Generation and an Enhanced Site Health Report.

Site Health

Internal Links: significant upgrade of the Site Structure report.

The Site Structure report will now show you all pages of your site including pages with redirects, meta refresh, server issues, etc.

In addition to the title, description and H1 tag columns that you used to rely on, we’ve added H2 – H4, Status code, Redirects to, Canonical, Tags and Keywords columns:

The Site Structure report has obtained new filters, so now you can sort the data by folders, by pages and by status code.

In combination with a new search option, this provides an opportunity for much deeper analysis.

The Landing page URLs in the report are now clickable and you can mark a page as a Landing page right from the Site Structure report as well as edit its settings.

From now on, we store the results of every site structure scan. This allows you to overview and compare the folders and pages statistics at any moment.

The data and filters are available in the convenient tiles at the top of the report. The names of the tiles are Total canonical pages, Total scanned pages, Total folders.

Sitemap Generation: automatic sitemap indexation.

Great news!

We’ve automated the sitemap generation and submission of the new pages of your site.  Feel free to create a link to your sitemap file that we’re hosting on our servers.

The sitemap file will be updated automatically and indexed by search engine crawlers fast. You won’t need to perform any additional actions.

Landing Page SEO: auto-refresh for the monthly search data.

We now show the number of Global/Local searches for your keywords automatically for the On-Page Issues Keyword placement map.

Starting today you do not have to rescan the report to see the fresh numbers.

Keyword Research

A new filter to manage data more effectively.

Get Suggestions and Spy on Competitors reports now have a new Word count filter that helps you find keywords with the proper length faster:

GA 4

Google Analytics UA permanent removal, Sessions column and new predefined periods are now shown in reports.

We switched the Google Analytics Tracking id for our White Label customers to GA4 as Google Analytics (UA) will no longer be available after July 1, 2024.

Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads reports and widgets have been enhanced with more time periods which will speed up your work as you can display the desired date range quickly and select the period to compare with one click.

The new predefined time periods are: This week, Last week , This month , Last 90 days, This quarter and Last quarter.

Google Search Console Top pages report has obtained a useful Sessions column powered by Google Analytics 4 data. You can add or remove it via the Manage columns button.

Rank Tracking

A new by page filter to fast-track your job.

Detailed and By Page reports of the Rank Tracking tool have gained a useful filter that allows displaying the data by URL:

Also, Competitor Metrics > Rankings Overview and Competitor Rankings > Competitor Overview reports have obtained new filters to let you refine your PDF Reports and make them more precise.

Besides, in the name of a search engine that you track, we now show if a SafeSearch mode is active for it.

Widgets

Home page Trust Flow and Home page Citation Flow data added.

We’ve included the Home page Trust Flow and Home page Citation Flow data in the Project’s Key Metrics widget at your request:

The holidays are over, but there’s still enough room for one final New Year’s present!

We are happy to announce WebCEO’s first major update for 2019. The update can be broken down into two major parts.

First: some of our Online SEO tools have become better at doing their job. We’ve taught them new tricks and made them more powerful. Our old-time users will undoubtedly notice how much the UX has changed for the better – kudos to our developer team.

Second: WebCEO now introduces an entirely new subscription plan called the Solo plan (1 project, 50 keywords). It was specifically made for users who are new to SEO and to our tools. If you don’t know how to do SEO, it’s going to change today!

Both groups of users will find themselves pleased by what our team has created. Do you want to hear what exactly makes these two innovations so great?

Well, let’s not keep you waiting!

1. New features

Let’s start with the general improvements made to our tools. What’s new with WebCEO?

Task Manager

It’s common business for several SEO specialists to unite in a team and split the SEO objectives between each other. In situations like this, keeping track of who does what is a priority. This part of our update will be helpful for users of WebCEO’s white label domain feature.

If you have used WebCEO’s Tasks before, you should be familiar with auto-tasks – automatically pre-generated SEO tasks, created from the results of a tool scanning for website issues, that you can add into your working plan without having to create them manually. So what’s the improvement?

Task Manager now has a new auto-task that’s automatically added to your list of tasks upon scanning: Analyze your competitors’ new backlinks and look for missed backlink opportunities. Wordy, but valuable. Backlinks are raw ranking fuel, and we want to make sure you always have as many quality backlinks as you can gather.

A new SEO auto-task: analyze your competitors' backlinks.

Technical Audit

Our tool for weeding out technical issues has made a step towards improving your online security. Now there’s a new type of error WebCEO’s Technical Audit can detect: unsafe links to HTTP websites. These errors will be named “mixed content issues” in your reports.

Why are those links a problem? As you know, the HTTPS protocol is more secure than its older HTTP version. If you accidentally lead your users to another site which will compromise their security, they won’t be happy with you. Don’t treat your users’ experience carelessly; always keep your technical SEO game in its top form!

Scan your site now, you might find more unsafe links than you’d expect.

Project Settings

Do you remember how it used to be when you wanted to change any of your project’s settings? You had to switch between multiple tools to configure each one individually, wasting precious time on loading new pages. Frankly, you can still do that, if you want… But that’s so 2018.

You have a better option now. Project Settings is now a separate page which can reconfigure all of the tools.

Configure all of your SEO tools at once in the new Project Settings.

And it’s not a popup window anymore. This update has definitely made things take a turn for the better.

Help Center

A minor, but pleasant and useful change in our Help Center: screenshots are clickable now. Long have we been forced to shrink big, highly detailed images into their smaller versions, throwing out so much valuable information. Not anymore. As of this update, you can finally view them in full size with a single click.

It’s good for us, too, because our team can finally let loose with the images we put in our guides.

Competitor Backlink Spy

Now it’s time to announce the biggest of the minor changes, second only to the creation of our new Solo plan. What’s new with our tool for spying on your competitors’ link profiles? Hope you’re ready for this. Here goes…

Competitor Backlink Spy is finally available for free trial users.

Until now, it was the only tool you couldn’t enjoy if you were subscribed to WebCEO’s free trial. But that, too, has been left behind in 2018. The future is a perfect excuse for newer and better traditions!

Same as with every other tool, Competitor Backlink Spy’s free version’s functionality is limited compared to other plans (in order to whet your appetite for more). Free Trial users can pick up 10 backlink opportunities based on a competitor backlink analysis.

Want to sign up and try?

2. “Plan… Solo.”

I wonder if this naming choice was inspired by one of the recent popular movies. But that’s beside the point. Only one thing matters: WebCEO has developed a new subscription plan for its users, named the Solo plan.

“Is this plan for me?”

Let’s see. Do you know how to do SEO? If you answered “no”, then this plan is for you.

The Solo plan is aimed at users who are completely new to SEO and SEO tools. It’s designed to guide users through the process of optimizing their website with the help of a very obvious interface and many, many tips for what to do next.

For example, let’s take a look at the project creation wizard Solo users will see after signing up. Regular users will notice it’s different from the wizard they’ve worked with.

WebCEO's Solo plan has a new project creation wizard.

Once you’ve completed the three steps shown in the screenshot (entering your website’s URL, selecting your location and choosing your keywords), the service will generate your very first SEO report where it will describe in detail how drastic your current SEO situation is. Be ready to see a lot of red numbers and words. They will be par for the course if you’re just starting to optimize your site.

Your first SEO report when you try out the Solo plan.

(This is just the tip of the iceberg. Click here to view the full, uncropped image.)

“Looks cool! What do I do next?”

This preliminary SEO report is free. You can even copy the link to your report in the address bar and send it to others – for example, to your boss who wants to know how your website is doing. Once you’ve purchased the subscription, the rest of the plan’s features become available. That’s when you’ll see all the suggested steps for your site’s optimization.

Click on Tasks to see everything you will need to do.

Open the list of your SEO tasks by clicking on Tasks.

Then click on any task to see what tools you will need to complete them. There will be links to those tools, as well. I’ll say this with confidence: working with SEO tasks in WebCEO has never been easier.

Tasks encompass all things SEO: keywords, rankings, backlinks and many others.

Our service will automatically rescan your site every week. You will then receive an email with a report of weekly changes in your SEO situation. The email will even include a link to your SEO tasks so you can jump straight back into work again. Handy!

Do you feel like trying the new Solo plan out for yourself? I promise you won’t be disappointed. If you haven’t joined the ranks of WebCEO users yet, now’s the time to do it!

As of today, the dreaded GDPR is in effect!

It caused quite a panic across the world. All companies, big and small, have spent the last month scurrying around, updating their services and policies before the change hit. I’m glad we weren’t one of those businesses who had to do everything posthaste out of fear of facing the fines.

But what exactly is going on? What could cause such turmoil on a global scale?

What is GDPR?

I’ve gone through countless pages of official documents on GDPR to fully understand what it is. My head is spinning from all the formal language, so I’ll just lay it down in simple terms.

GDPR (or General Data Protection Regulation) is a set of new rules for online security. Its purpose is to give Internet users full control over their personal information, such as their names, phone numbers, photos, email and IP addresses – any sort of information that could be tied to a real-life person. Naturally, that also includes data you don’t want to fall into the wrong hands, like credit card information.

I assume the pre-GDPR world is still fresh in your memory, so you know how things were in the not-so-distant past. Users could freely submit their information on websites, but it was almost impossible for them to remove it completely. Normally, only site admins could reach where user data was stored and delete it without a trace. And that’s exactly where the change strikes.

GDPR imposes new obligations upon webmasters. From now on, websites must be open about what sorts of user data they collect, as well as their reasons for doing so. Even then, websites may collect the data only if users agree with those reasons and clearly express their consent. Additionally, websites will have to enable users to delete their personal data, or at least be quick about taking it down per user request. Plenty of work, don’t you agree?

Our new GDPR-friendly cookies popup.

GDPR officially applies only to websites with users from EU countries. However, many websites who don’t have users from there have decided to update their policies, too – just in case. For that reason, we will dedicate a separate blog update to describe how GDPR will affect websites and SEO.

Is WebCEO GDPR compliant?

Definitely yes. WebCEO has users in the EU, as well as every other part of the world, and thus is subject to GDPR.

It has always been our policy to safeguard our customers’ data. We realize what kind of problems can be caused by misuse of sensitive information and wouldn’t wish them upon anybody, least of all our users. We treat said data with utmost caution, and we did so long before GDPR. The new rules simply gave us an opportunity to tighten up our security.

WebCEO collects only the necessary minimum of user information required for the service to perform its functions effectively. We ask users for their permission to gather that necessary minimum, and without their permission, no data is taken. In addition, users may exercise their right “to be forgotten” any time they wish, and WebCEO is obligated to comply.

All the necessary preparations are in place, and WebCEO is now even safer to use than before. So here’s what we did:

  • Created a site popup that asks users for their consent to the use of cookies. User consent will be required to work with WebCEO, as the service’s functionality would be severely hampered without cookies.
  • Slightly changed our account registration form. The old disclaimer saying “By clicking ‘Sign Up’ you agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy policies” has been replaced with a checkbox that users need to tick in order to create a new account.
  • Enhanced the SEO lead generation form. It’s now adorned with a checkbox saying “I agree to submit [my email address, name and additional contact info] for further storage and processing”.
  • Added an option for users to delete their account from the service, along with all their information. That includes cookies, email address, billing information, and of course, SEO projects.
  • Updated our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy which you can read on our site. These pages describe in detail what user information we take and how it’s used.

If you have any questions regarding your user data or our new policies, please direct them at our support team (support@webceo.com). We are ready to provide our assistance at any moment.

Afterword

It’s kind of amazing how much WebCEO has changed even over the past month. We just had another SEO tools update a couple weeks ago, and then we received an extra impetus from GDPR. Now WebCEO is a shield against any attempts on our users’ sensitive data. Hats off to our developer team and their hard work.
